Community Support and Resources

Actionable Care for Our Community

Our campus holds a shared value of care and resiliency, and those values are tested and proven by how we support one another, especially during times of need.

You may want to share the resources on this page with your courses as an announcement or email for anyone who needs to access the services. If any students disclose challenges to you, keeping these resources on hand and considering a CARE Team referral are actionable, helpful steps you can take to support them.

CARE Team

If a situation is an emergency and requires immediate response, dial 911 or UCCS Police (719-255-3111) to request emergency services.

The CARE (Campus Assessment Response and Evaluation) Team addresses concerns related to students’ safety and wellbeing, and we support students in times of challenge and crisis.

Clyde's Cupboard

Clyde’s Cupboard is a 100% donation-based and non-need-based food pantry on campus that provides free food and toiletries for all enrolled UCCS students. If you are able and interested, you can make financial or physical item donations to support our students facing food insecurity.

Community at PPLD

The Pikes Peak Library District manages a comprehensive list for crisis, food, clothing, shelter, and other assistance programs within the larger community. You may find the Helping Hands and the Tough Topics guides helpful to post in your courses for students.

Mental Health services may be useful for our community members experiencing related crises. While not an immediate impact on the food insecurity or physical challenge of the moment, attending to mental health and wellness needs are critical in overall resiliency and care.

CU Food Fight: Ends December 3

The Food Fight has begun, and you can join by making a gift to help UCCS students facing food insecurity.

You play a vital role in supporting our students’ academic journeys—and you know that when they’re hungry, it’s harder for them to concentrate, engage and succeed.

By making a gift today, you’ll help ensure that Clyde’s Cupboard, our free on-campus food pantry, can continue to provide essential resources that help students stay focused on their education.

This year, your generosity goes even further: Our friends at Ent Credit Union will match the first $10,000 raised for UCCS, doubling the impact of your gift!
